Lufthansa introduces Munich stopover programme for Singapore and U.S. routes
New option allows flexible stays for passengers on flights from Singapore and the US

Lufthansa has launched a new stopover programme allowing passengers travelling on select routes from Singapore and the United States to extend their layover in Munich for up to seven days.
The initiative enables travellers to convert a transit stop into a short city break, with the option to include hotel stays and tourism experiences in the Bavarian capital. The offering is integrated into the airline’s booking platform and is available across all travel classes. Passengers can add the Munich stopover during the booking process for either the outbound or return journey, selecting a stay duration ranging from 24 hours to seven days.
Additional services such as hotel accommodation, car rentals and leisure activities can be added through Lufthansa’s partner network after flight booking. Depending on the route combination, a surcharge may apply.
Heiko Reitz, Member of the Lufthansa Airlines Board and Hub Manager Munich said, “With our new stopover program, we are turning a layover in Munich into real added value for our guests. We are excited to give travellers the opportunity to flexibly incorporate one of Europe’s most attractive cities and regions into their journey, enhancing their flight with a truly personal travel experience.”
The stopover programme is being introduced initially for Singapore and U.S. routes, with plans to expand to additional destinations and Lufthansa Group hubs over the coming year.
